{summer} reading list

we are in the groove of things now. camp has begun. (we are trying out an every other day option this summer. i think enough time for me to work - and enough time for us to play.) and we are looking ahead to hitting the road and escaping to our paradise. one birthday is in the pocket - and another right ahead.

in an effort to supersede requests for screen-time, we hit the library yesterday. the girls' love of books always makes me smile.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn is my all time favourite book. When my husband was in grade 3 he really wanted to read 'Are You There God?" but it was only allowed for grade 4 kids and up. On the first day of grade 4 he marched into the library and borrowed it. And had his eyes opened. I can't wait for my 8 year old daughter to start reading these books. She's working her way through Roald Dahl. We also just bought "Unbored" for all the great activities.

Have you read Gone Girl yet? It's not really like anything you posted but I really liked it, the audio version was intriguing and helped with my commute to work. :)

Reading a ton of YA and graphic novels for work so will keep you posted if I read any good ones. Just finished a Kit Pearson book that would be perfect at the beach... called Looking at the Moon. Is the second in a trilogy, so you might want to find out what the first book is and start with that. :]

If your girls are into graphic novels at all, I'm working on an order right now and can send it to you when I'm done. YA order won't be until August.
